11 Flower Activities for Preschoolers

I love learning about flowers with preschoolers in a few ways. I like teaching preschoolers about plant life cycles with fun garden books and gardening activities, I like learning about flowers using 5 senses activities and of course I like using flowers as a theme for other learning like literacy too. These flower activities for preschoolers will include all these learning areas with this flower garden theme!

Flower Garden Name Activity

This simple activity was a huge hit in my PreK class – probably because all young children love anything with their name on it. I loved this flower garden name craft because it gave us a chance to work on writing names meaningfully. You will need multiple colors of construction paper, one large sheet of construction paper per student, scissors, crayons, and glue for this craft.

Before you invite children to come work on this – precut stems and the tops of the tulips.

Now, have the children write their names, one letter at a time, on the flowers. Then, before gluing, have them put their letters together to make their name and ensure they have the right order.

Time to glue and add fun garden details with crayons.
