Gracie started studying karate the past quarter. She knew it was something I want all the kids to do, so I’m glad she has taken the initiative and has been enthusiastic. I took karate back in the 80’s and felt very fortunate to be able to study under Hidy Ochiai. But with school, work & family, I have never been back. It was like blast from the past stepping into that dojo again. I was shocked to see that Master Ochiai is still teaching! Gracie is a fast learner & has already earned her orange belt. She is also running track and just competed in a robotics competition.
Dominick is running track too, and the coach was very impressed to see Dominick run a sub 7 minute mile on his very first run. He also just won 3rd place at an area science fair for a project in which he compared the absorbability of various liquids by a SAP (Super Absorbent Polymer).
Annie is going to be the character Katie in the play Annie, and NOT character Annie. Someone else, who is named Zoe is going to be playing Annie. Hum, seems confusing…. She’s be drawing & baking up a storm.
Sophie is currently reading a book that is way above her grade level. She maintains that she is reading because I pay her to read books (I do) -but I suspect she really enjoys it! She also lost a front tooth – which she pulled herself!
