Inside this post we share the easiest way to make leaf prints for kids WITHOUT paint! You and your kids will love it.
How can you make leaf prints with kids?
Leaf prints are so easy to make with kids! It’s a very simple process.
- Put something on the leaf (ink, paint, markers, etc).
- Press it onto paper.
- Pull off to reveal the print.
You can make leaf prints with a variety of materials, but the version in this post is probably THE easiest.
One of my favorite things about our low prep leaf print art is that you DON’T have to use paint to make it!

Leaf Print Instructions
You won’t believe how easy these are to make!
1. Go on a leaf hunt to find a variety of leaves. Ones with thick veins are the best.
2. Color on the back of the leaves (the side with the veins) using washable markers. Highlight the veins with markers and color anywhere else you’d like on the back of the leaves.
3. Place the leaf, vein side down (colored side down), onto a piece of white paper.
4. Use a rolling pin to roll over the leaf and press the design into the paper.
5. Pull the colorful leaf off the paper to reveal your leaf print.
6. Repeat with a new leaf (or the same leaf with more marker drawn on it).
