Halloween Craft- Straw Rockets for Kids

Inside this post we’re sharing a super simple Halloween craft! We’re making Halloween themed straw rockets!

What’s an easy Halloween craft to make?

Straw rockets are such a simple craft idea to make for Halloween! You can make them using any of your favorite spooky or cute Halloween themes!

Here are a few of the Halloween themes we like to use for our straw rockets:

• bats
• ghosts
• monsters
• witches
• pumpkins
• spiders
• and more!

A few years ago we tried making Halloween shooters inspired by these Halloween shooter toys by Red Ted Art. We were hooked! We adapted the activity to simplify it and make it work for toddlers on up using a few unique tools. We hope you love it as much as we have!

How to make the Halloween Straw Rockets

1. Print out your favorite Halloween printable rocket flyer onto thick paper (we like white cardstock).

2. Have kids cut out their design with scissors.

3. Color the Halloween straw rocket with crayons or markers.

4. Cut off the thick top off of a pipette.

5. Tape the pipette top to the back of your Halloween straw rocket with the open part facing down.

6. Stick a straw inside the pipette piece.

7. Now you’re ready to launch your Halloween straw rocket! Take it outside or to a space designated for launching.

8. Blow the bottom of the straw and watch your Halloween creation fly into the air!

Blow harder and see what happens. Then try blowing slower or with less air. Experiment to see how high or far or low or short you can make your rocket go.
