So after a meal at Nangfa Thia Kitchen, we decided to head across the street
to Ji De Chi Dessert to try their traditional dessert.
This is a cosy spot nestled in a HDB Block. It is bright and airy but nothing
fanciful. Reviews online have been on both spectrums with a decent rating of
4.5 on Google.
They have a mixture of hot and cold traditional desserts.
We tried the Durian Snowflake with Black Glutinous Rice and it is exactly what
it is shown in the picture. The dessert was fresh and cooling and a delight to
have in Sunny Singapore.
For warm dessert, we tried the traditional Yam Paste. The
paste was thick and the portion size was acceptable.
Verdict
While the desserts are not unique, they are pretty decent if you are looking
for traditional desserts. Ambience-wise, it does not deviate far from
heartland vibes.
Overall, if you are looking for desserts in Bedok vicinity, this one can go.
