While I like the chaos and mess that children make, I do at times like it to be slightly contained. One of those times is when painting with babies. The mess that that can create is unmatched, which is why I did this mess free Christmas painting. I will eventually let her lose with the paints, but that will be when she is more likely to do something else with it rather than just eat the paint.
Make sure you follow my Christmas board on Pinterest for more ideas. Don’t forget to save the pin for later.
To do your own mess free Christmas painting you will need:
- Washable taste safe paint
- Paper
- Ziplock bag
- Duck tape
Before you start make sure that your paper will fit into your Ziplock bag.
Put some paint onto the piece of paper and put the paper inside the Ziplock bag.
Tape the closed bag down onto a table/highchair tray table. Make sure all the tape is completely down. Little fingers are great at finding kinks and using them to rip up the tape.
Let your little one smack/push the paint around.
Once they are done, remove the whole thing, and take the paper out of the bag to dry.
NC really enjoyed her painting, although the finished product looks more like a squashed Very Hungry Caterpillar than a Christmas picture.
Of course, if you don’t mind the mess, you can just tape the paper down without the bag.
